JASON RABINOWITZ
Jason Rabinowitz is the principal officer of Teamsters Local 2010 with decades of experience in protecting the rights of workers. Since coming to the Local in 2013, Jason has led the charge in building our Union into a powerhouse for workers’ rights in California, taking us from 29% membership to over 80% for the first time in Union history. Under his leadership, we have created an effective stewards program, conducted a powerful contract campaign culminating in successful strikes, won strong contracts with guaranteed raises for our membership, and organized thousands of new members into the Teamsters.
CATHERINE COBB
Catherine Cobb is the President of Teamsters Local 2010 and has long stood for the fair and respectful treatment of our members in the workplace. Catherine has been on the front lines of countless actions and meetings fighting for our members and growing our Union into the powerhouse that it is today. At the bargaining table and the picket line, she has been key in winning strong contracts and building up our Union across the state. Coming from the membership, she knows firsthand the issues that our members face and the power in standing together in our Union.

MARY HIGGINS
Mary Higgins is the Vice President of Teamsters Local 2010 and Union Representative for UCSF. For over 40 years, Mary worked with the UC becoming a member of the bargaining unit in 1976. Since then, she has taken many leadership roles as the Union has evolved. Mary is now retired from UC, but is still very much involved as a Union Representative, proudly stating that her activism has become her life.
ALI TWEINI
Ali has been an active Union member since starting at UCLA in January 2011. In that time, he has been involved in every aspect of the Union, first becoming a steward and now our Political Coordinator. Ali was elected Recording-Secretary of Teamsters Local 2010 in 2013 and is motivated by his deep commitment to justice and equality for all workers.
ROCIO RICHARDS
Rocio Richards has played a pivotal role in helping Local 2010 grow into the organizing powerhouse it is today. Coming from the rank-and-file Rocio knows firsthand the issues that our members face every single day. Rocio believes it is crucial for our members to continue to fight for equal opportunities in the workplace and stand against discrimination.

TAMMY TILLMON
Tammy Tillmon is a Patient Authorization Representative at UCLA. She is Teamsters Local 2010 Chapter Coordinator for UCLA campus, and a longtime Teamster Steward.
STEPHANIE WATTS-PARRISH
Stephanie has been employed at UCLA since June 2016 and is a union steward in her department. Currently, she is on leave working on Union Business with Teamsters Local 2010. She is also a Field Organizer for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters since July 2019. Organizing is now her life as she works to educate and empower workers to have a voice in their workplace.
JAMAL COLTER
Jamal Colter is a primary care essential worker at UCSF Medical Center. Jamal is the chief union steward at UCSF, an employee advocate, and practice coordinator. Jamal helped to lead the fight to defeat prop 22 and is dedicated to advancing worker rights. Jamal is also a facilitator of the Diversity and inclusion program at UCSF.
MELISSA MUNIO
Melissa Munio, who currently serves as Chief of Staff, began her career in the public sector in the late 80’s and was part of the Organizing committee that voted in Teamsters representation to bargain for necessary worker protections and pay. She is proud to call herself a “rank and file” Teamster and has served as chief shop steward, bargaining team member, and political coordinator eventually becoming business agent and committing her career to improving the life of the public employees throughout the State of California. Melissa is dedicated to serving her fellow member to ensure a better life for them and their families.
TEAM 2010 UNITY SLATE DELEGATE ALTERNATES CANDIDATES
TANYA AKEL
Tanya Akel has over 24 years of worksite organizing, negotiation, contract enforcement, and policy interpretation experience. She is a fierce advocate for workers’ rights and quality representation. As the Field Director at Teamsters Local 2010 she oversees the internal organizing and contract enforcement for the Local. Prior to joining Teamsters, she worked at UCLA Labor Occupational Safety and Health Program, educating and advocating for the health and safety of workers. She is a part time adjunct instructor for the LA Trade Tech labor studies program and teaches courses on grievance, arbitration, leadership, and collective bargaining to union leaders, stewards, and activists from all walks of life.
STEPHANIE AGUILAR
Stephanie is the UCLA Med Center Union Representative for our satellite locations with over 15 years of experience. Her journey as a union activist began in 1995 when she was threatened with layoffs from the LA County Social Services, sparking an interest in becoming involved in her union. soon after, her interests developed into a full-blown passion for representing members and never giving up on the fight for justice.

Robert Olson is a Painter at San Jose State, a Teamster Steward and served as a member of the Teamsters bargaining team for the CSU Skilled Trades Contract.
